ultimate fighting championship, pride fighting championship, world extreme cagefighting, international fight league, world combat league - with such a surge in serious gladiator style pain infliction, I am left wondering, where can i go to get into a good old fashion bar fight? maybe the answer is the save mart parking lot or on the drive to work or walking my dog. don't get me wrong i am probably more of a fan of this pummeling than most, but what is it doing to the world that georgia will grow up in? and what happened to boxing? is it just for wienies? i used to have alot of respect for boxers, but now they don't seem like well rounded fighters, just rope jumpers.
so i am working on names for my new league; most of my name ideas are just different word combinations of the previously listed leagues. i am open to suggestions, but i will take partial credit, i just thought i should warn you since i have such a fighting spirit.

flying high
another new show on HBO could be the only reason one might need to justify the premium package. flight of the conchords will be very enjoyable for those preferring dry comedy. it can also be applauded for it's musical endeavors as it highlights numerous musical genres. this show is grounded on a new zealand duo who are strangely unintelligent while strangely brilliant. the music is juvenile and amazing at the same time; uninhibited and unafraid. the newcomers are obviously culture shocked and struggling to gain success in the novelty music industry. the storylines are pretty shallow, but a nice change from the norm.
my favorite episode was recently shown. one of the characters, jermaine, played david bowie in the imagination of his bandmate, bret. bowie appeared from different time periods when his fame peaked and offered advice on self esteem and other things one might need to be a successful superstar, like wearing an eyepatch, for example. i would have never guessed it before the episode, but jermaine is an awesome bowie. i wish flight even more success.
needless to say i am hooked. HBO is my hero; six feet under, the sopranos, entourage, deadwood, john from cincinati, def poetry, real time - all quality shows.
