another new show on HBO could be the only reason one might need to justify the premium package. flight of the conchords will be very enjoyable for those preferring dry comedy. it can also be applauded for it's musical endeavors as it highlights numerous musical genres. this show is grounded on a new zealand duo who are strangely unintelligent while strangely brilliant. the music is juvenile and amazing at the same time; uninhibited and unafraid. the newcomers are obviously culture shocked and struggling to gain success in the novelty music industry. the storylines are pretty shallow, but a nice change from the norm.
my favorite episode was recently shown. one of the characters, jermaine, played david bowie in the imagination of his bandmate, bret. bowie appeared from different time periods when his fame peaked and offered advice on self esteem and other things one might need to be a successful superstar, like wearing an eyepatch, for example. i would have never guessed it before the episode, but jermaine is an awesome bowie. i wish flight even more success.
needless to say i am hooked. HBO is my hero; six feet under, the sopranos, entourage, deadwood, john from cincinati, def poetry, real time - all quality shows.

I lost my mysteriously free HBO just before the last 2 episodes of Rome. I loved that show.
Deadwood is fun, but when I tried to get Becky to check it out, it was a straight 5-minute run of "c*cksucker"this and that, and she wasn't impressed.
I do miss HBO, and if I were paying for cable I would probably boost it to include HBO. But I'm not, so I won't.
Good to see you on the blogosphere. Nerd.

I've heard about this show and it got rave reviews from them. I think you can download episodes. I'll have to look into it.
